The House Team
House Advisors are live-in professional administrators, all of whom hold master’s degrees. The House Advisors act as liaisons between the Office of Residential Life and the houses and serve as an ongoing resource to other House Team members.
Each House Advisor is responsible for two houses, overseeing the building management, ensuring the security and wellbeing of the students, and working with student leaders on social/cultural/educational programming.
House Fellows are faculty members who live with their families in apartments within the houses. House Fellows help to create a sense of community in the house, hosting study-breaks and other events and providing informal advising to the students in their house.
Student Fellows are second-year students (usually) who have been trained to provide peer counseling for new students. Each Student Fellow is assigned to a group of 8-14 incoming students who live on the same hall. Student Fellows are familiar with registration procedures and campus resources and are trained to deal with the social and academic problems frequently encountered by new students.
House Student Advisors, usually third-year students, provide leadership for the Student Fellows and participate in their selection, training, and supervision.
House Fellow Interns, paired with the House Fellows, serve as academic resources and aim to create opportunities for intellectual discourse (usually over food).
House Officers include a president, program director, secretary, treasurer, and a first year representative. All, except for the first year rep., are elected by the members of the house towards the end of the Spring term.
