The Houses

About 98% of Vassar’s students live on campus. All new students are assigned a room with one or more roommates in one of the nine residence halls (eight coed, one for women only). The all-women’s hall is Strong House. The coed halls are Cushing House, Davison House, Jewett House, Josselyn House, Lathrop House, Main House, Noyes House, and Raymond House. These residence halls house between 170 and 350 students. Each house is distinctive, from its physical characteristics and history to the personality of the residents and the coeducational atmosphere they choose to create within the house. Housing is guaranteed for all full-time students; part-time students are not eligible for campus housing.
